- Career Development
Career development refers to a formal approach taken by an organization to assist people get the experiences and skills required to do present & future jobs.
The policies of business organization particularly policies regarding counseling the employees, promotion and opportunities to excel in future assist employees to build their career.
It contains education, skills &experiences as well as reinforcement techniques and behavioral modification that permit persons to add value and work better.
HRD Programs are divided into Three Categories
HRD programs are divided into three categories which are as follow.
- Training
The acquiring of technology which allows workers to do their present job to standards is refers as technology.
- Education
In order to perform a different job, training is given to people in the form of education. It is mostly provided to people who have been identifies as being considered for a new job either upward or lateral and being promotable.
- Development
In order to get new technology, horizons or viewpoints training is given to people in the form of development.
Organizations are guided by leaders through development to new expectation by making themselves proactive instead of being reactive.
Methods of Human Resource Development
In some situation on the job development is given to employees and in some cases off the job methods are employed for development of employees. Following are the methods of human resource of development use for developing the work force.
- Job Rotation
In order to expand the knowledge, skills and abilities, employees are moved to different positions in the organizations. Job rotation can be either vertical or horizontal. Vertical rotation is actually promoting an employee to a new post.
- Assistant to Position
Workers with shown potential are sometimes provided the opportunity to work under a successful manager, mostly in various areas of the organization.

- Outdoor Training
The use of outdoor training has been a trend in employee development. The main concentration of such training is to enable trainees the significance of working together as teams.
